FAQ

  • Q: What can I expect at my facial appointment?

A: Plan to arrive to your first appointment about 5-10 minutes early. You will need to fill out a form listing contact information, allergies and any medications that you are currently taking. A facial generally consists of a cleansing, exfoliation, steam (in the form of warm towels or a machine), massage and a treatment mask.

Q: What should I do to prepare for my facial?

A: Please arrive makeup free. Please be aware hot towels, steam, and water will be involved in facial services. It is best to schedule prior to lash or hair appointments.

Q: Will the facial hurt, or be uncomfortable?

A: Facials should never hurt. However during some treatments you may experience slight discomfort, which will be addressed prior and resolved by the end of the facial. If for some reason you should feel any discomfort, please tell me immediately.

Q: If I get a facial, do I have to use professional products at home?

A:  No, but talk to me about what products you are using. Many products from drug stores or beauty counters contain ingredients that cause or contribute to skin issues such as dryness, oiliness, acne breakouts and redness.

Q: I have acne after my facial?

A: It’s not acne. It’s Purging. Purging is basically everything coming the surface. It is completely normal! Allow the benefits of the facial to take its course, don’t pick at your skin, and continue with your normal skincare routine. You will notice results within 1-2 weeks.

Q: How soon will I start seeing results from my facial?

A: Some people see results immediately, and your skin should feel different right away. The skin feels, clean, smooth, hydrated, and reflects a new level of health that’s visibly noticeable.  If the skin has more advanced long-term needs, such as treatment of skin aging, acne or hyper-pigmentation caused by hormonal fluctuations or sun damage, results may not be immediately visible; however, skin health will continue to improve as you follow my advice, and use a good home-care regimen.

    Q: I received a facial, why don’t I see results?

A: Facials are only about 20% of your skincare regime. Please also take into consideration your diet, water intake, and at home regime.

Q: How often should I get a facial?

A: Generally, facials are recommended once a month. However, we can discuss your specific needs, desired outcomes and schedule together.

Q: Can I wear makeup after a facial?
